NOTICE OF VACANT SEAT ON THE BEACH CDD BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Beach Community Development District (the “District”) would like to announce that a vacancy will occur in Seat Two of the District’s Board of Supervisors (the “Board”) on November 22, 2022. The vacant seat will be filled through the appointment process by the remaining members of the Board.
The Board will be responsible for appointing a qualified applicant to fill the 4-year term of Seat #2. All interested District residents are requested to send their resume/or letter-of-interest to the District Manager (see below for contact information). The Board requests that anyone who sends their resume or letter to please attend the November 7, 2022 meeting, where the Board will allow each applicant to speak for 3 minutes and engage in 2 minutes of Questions and Answers with the Board, which timeframes may be extended in the Board’s sole discretion.
The Board’s review of the resumes and letters and the applicants’ opportunity to speak to the Board on November 7 is in advance of the creation of the vacancy on November 22, 2022. It is the Board’s intent to appoint a qualified applicant at the Board’s December 19, 2022 meeting without any further input from the applicants.
Applicants must be a “qualified elector” pursuant to Section 190.003(17), Florida Statutes, which means each applicant must be at least 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States, a legal resident of Florida and of the District, and registered to vote with the supervisor of elections in Duval County.
The applicant needs to be willing to attend up to 12 meetings a year in person.
How to apply: Send the District Manager only a 1-page letter or a 1-page professional biography with your name, address and contact information (note that once sent this information is subject to public records requests). Welcome to the official website for the Beach Community Development District (the “District”). This website is funded on behalf of the District to serve two major purposes. The first is to comply with Chapter 189.069 of the Florida Statutes, which requires each special District to maintain an official website. The second is an effort to help educate the general public about the services provided by the District, and to highlight the other agencies involved in the day-to-day operations of the community. These agencies include but are not limited to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Duval County and the Beach homeowner’s association.

Please be advised that the Beach Community Development District (the “District”), a local unit of special purpose government created under Florida law, has constructed and is responsible for the maintenance of certain improvements, infrastructure and facilities within the District. The District financed this construction through the sale of tax-exempt bonds, a form of public financing. As a result, and in accordance with applicable federal and state law, all District owned improvements, infrastructure and facilities are and shall remain open and accessible to the general public. Should you have any questions on this matter, non-resident user fees applicable to District recreational facilities, or any other general District issue, please feel free to contact the District Manager.
